During the last eight months of traveling, we’ve stayed at many different places ~ everything from luxurious resorts and private villas to condos and apartments to motel rooms and even some hostels. While we’ve had the occasional night where we arrive somewhere and say “Woah, are we really going to stay here?” or “Man, this is the biggest rip EVER!”, but for the most part, the places have met or exceeded our expectations.
Well, Hale Sweet Hale happens to be one of those great little upside surprises. We arrived in the little town of Volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii to find a quaint little Muskoka-like cottage awaiting us. From the moment we walked into the place, we loved it! It’s not luxurious in any way, but it is super comfortable and very pretty. Scott liked it so much that he made a detailed sketch of the place with the hope of replicating it one of these days in Muskoka…. In the meantime, if you’re ever on the Big Island, and think that staying in a rain forest situated on the side of a volcano sounds fun, or you’ve got a few days before the Kona Ironman to enjoy, we’d definitely recommend it!
