Hels and I did a little post-race convalescing in Cairns. Not only is Cairns a great place to hit the world famous Great Barrier Reef, but we also stayed with an old friend, Michelle, who I’ve known since working in Whistler, BC during the ’90 ski season! And not only is it really cool to catch up with an old friend, but we also lucked out in our timing as Michelle had just got engaged a few days before we arrived! Although I’m sure that having Hels and I visit for a few nights right after such a monumental occasion was already the height of romance, we were also able to squeeze in a bit of celebrating! So to Michelle and Daniel, congratulations and best wishes!
