Gold star week :)

We finally did it! No, not an Ironhombre, or a bongo tube ride, but Hels and I have finally had our first “gold star week” in over eight years of marital bliss. In order to not cause confusion, and to also provide some scope for the magnitude of this effort, allow me explain. Back in the day at Huron, a gold star week made reference to a student making every class (including labs) for an entire week. Now, although the notion of squeezing in 15 whole hours of class between Monday and Friday seems laughable today, that of course is the point of those four glorious years! So with that in mind, I am proud to announce that for the first time since 1999, Hels and I have made every single meal for the last week ~ kind of an adult version of the venerable gold star theme. I should also note that for those of you who know us well, this does NOT include “making Special K” for dinner! OK, I can hear you now: “Bragging rights?... More like barfing rights!”, “Good luck in ER!” and of course, “Hello????? You currently have ZERO other responsibilities right now other than surfing to your heart’s content…” Fair point, but hey, it’s a start!
