Mov’in On (Them and Us)

Admittedly, on an extended trip, you’re going to have a misstep or two along the way. Well, we just firmly planted both feet in a large steamer with our latest move. After a fab week in famed Byron Bay, we headed North to Burleigh Heads to be closer to some prime Oz surf. Well, as they say, “it looked good on paper.” Interestingly, we arrived at night to a fairly deserted town, except for the “Mov’in On” elderly sightseeing coach. Hint #1. Then, curiously, on our early AM run, even the Spice Dog noted a lack of firm tata’s, replaced instead by a dearth of canes and “speedy” strollers. Honestly, we could deal with all this, but it was discovering the “El Rancho” motel on the next block over that broke us. Unknowingly, we’d planted ourselves firmly in the Kissimee St. Cloud of Oz, where the only thing jumpin’ was the emergency cardiac wing at Burleigh Memorial. So, we packed up and headed straight back to the Byron Bay tri-surfer vibe, dude. Yee haw!!
