After finally getting a break in the weather for the first time in about a week, Hels and I had just one thing on our minds: gitt’in some fresh pow. As it turns out, not everyone is as one track-minded as we are (thankfully). Take for instance, Dave Melloy, a long time family friend. Dave made the sober decision to fire up an all-out turkey dinner while a group of us were stranded in a stopped gondola high over Blackcomb. Literally, a scant 241 minutes after (finally) getting down off the mountain, Hels and I were comfortably seated in Dave & Brenda’s kitchen. A true high energy guy, Dave does it all at 110% effort, and when amid a flurry of kitchen activity he said “Not now, I’m in turkey mode”, we knew we were seeing vintage Dave :). Thanks to chef Dave, sous-chef Brenda, Kelly and Helen’s almost one-time boyfriend, Will, for a great night!
